Small Business Workshops
As part of our commitment of service to the business community the Kansas Department of Revenue offers workshops in Kansas Sales and Withholding tax. There are two segments to these workshops. The Withholding segment provides employers with an overview of Kansas Withholding requirements, tax responsibilities, filing requirement, and form preparation. The Sales tax segment explains the difference between the Kansas Retailers' Sales tax, the Kansas Retailer's Compensating Use tax, and the Kansas Consumers' Compensating Use tax. Participants will gain a basic understanding of the goods and services subject to sales tax. It will also explain your tax responsibilities, record keeping and filing requirements, form preparation, and purchases with exemption certificates. COST: Several of the Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) charge a fee for attending the Small Business Tax Workshops. PLEASE CONTACT THE SPONSORING SBDC FOR REGISTRATION AND FEE PAYMENT.
